Now Dolly Dear
You have been here
A long time
Almost a year

And we have played
WIth one another
That you were baby
And I was mother.

But now I have
To leave you home
And go to preschool
on my own

It will be hard
but don't you cry
One has to leave
the nest to fly

You will be safe
here on my bed
with teddy bear
and pillowed head

and Mommy will
look in on you
as good Grandmas
are 'sposed to do

She said I have
to grow and learn
she went to school
now its my turn

Just one more hug
and don't you cry
if you can be brave
so can I
